TZT2 Slow after Software V7 Update

I updated all 3 of my units (TZTouch 2) and everything seems very slow and sluggish now. Is there anything I can do to try and improve this condition?

Not 100% sure I though I did all the steps in the procedure. How do I do this? I do remember wondering why I did not lose my waypoints after I backed them up? If I have backup points on the other machines will they reappear on updated unit? Or will I need to import them back after master reset?

Is this the correct procedure?

Thanks Tom

Yes, that is the procedure. You shouldn't mix V7 units with V6 units or you will have problems. If you have everything at v7, then each MFD will have a copy of the waypoints and routes and sync over the network if a unit is cleared. It is also recommended to have a backup on USB so if the boat get hit by lightning or something unexpected. I guess it depend on the important you place on the data how far you go to safeguard it.

I finally did the master reset to all of the units and now I am having a lot of issues. First it seems like one of the lower displays (2 - TZT2 15's) are not communicating with each other. For example they do not shut down when shutting down network. If I check under initial settings - should I see both TZT2's in the upper screen? I do not but do see the other under the can bus. I keep getting all types of errors for my Sirius, Radar connection, muti-beam sounder, Etc. I also cannot navigate to a waypoint when clicking on a waypoint when it brings up the menu to navigate to point. I say yes but it says there is no data for the waypoint but the waypoints show the data and as long as I manually navigate to the waypoint it is fine. Also my Radar will not transmit for more than a few rotations and just stops? Is there a software update for the DRS12AX radar?

Where do I start to try and fix this mess?

Everything you describe points to one centralized issue your Furuno Ethernet has a problem. You might have hub problem or a bad network cable on your system. If it was me, I would disconnect everything from the hub and start simple. Plug in just two MFDs and see if they will talk together and slowly add items until something goes wrong. You might need to replace the hub, bad network cable or problem unit on the bus. Always use shielded ethernet with metal RJ45s to pass the shielding to keep out noise.

I was think that maybe the problem also. The first time I did this both TZT2 units showed up but had the same IP Address. I rebooted the system and hub and one of them went away.

I will try what you said and see if I have another hub I could try.

Thanks Tom
