TZT12F side scan transducer recommendation

Hi All,
I am about ready to order a TZT3 12F MFD for our new 50' Dixon , I will be using the boat for our whale watching outfit and have always wanted a side looking sonar to help stay on the whales when they dive out of site and to stay on the bait balls in the upper water colum, which transducer would likely give me the best horizontal range ?

On the TZT12F you can add a side scan transducer (or pair of transducers if the keel blocks one side).

Hi All,
Do the 225 T SS904 transducers look ahead at all or just off to the side? I am mostly interested in being able to look forward.

Only to the side, port and starboard. You can't just turn them 90 degrees either, it doesn't work right.
