I'm trying to connect my fusion 700 to my TZ 14 or 9
I thought that my connecting the red fusion cable to the nmea 2000 backbone it would work but it doesn't. Im trying to control my fusion from my tz.

any ideas? Do i need to connect by the LAN cable?

do I need software and if so where can I find it?

thanks

steve

Yes you need to connect it by network. The full instructions and required Fusion software level are posted in the instructions document on our website. If you need to update your Fusion, Garmin should be able to help you with that. Our instructions somehow got overlooked during the move to our new website. It has been added but will take 24 hours to update. You will find it under the TZT14 or TZT9 under technical information - Interfacing and Installation

It appears that one has to use the LAN network for fusion and NMEA 2000 has no interface.

The problem is that TZ9 has just one lan port and the TZ14 has 3 lan ports. One you fill up those ports with radar, sonar, and network you can't connect fusion unless you buy a $600 ethernet hub.

Makes no sense FURUNO.

Simrad and Garmin both interface fusion stereos through NMEA2000!!! :thumbdown

You don't need the hub101 for the TZT. A $10 hub works fine. Furuno Japan has said that NMEA 2000 support for Fusion might come in the future but as published we only support the 700 series with the Network connection. Being you have the 700, a low cost hub will most likely be cheaper than the needed NMEA 2000 connection Tee and drop.
