Which transducers are being used for the DFF3D and DFF1-UHD on the larger yellowfin? On one of the videos, the 3D was tracking bottom at 50knts and was stated it was mounted in front of the first step.
I asked them but they have no photos of the bottom of the boat. They said they have two transducers. One transducer is in front of the step and one behind the step in the back. The DFF3D transducer is the one in the back.
I would think the DFF3D transducer mounted behind the step would not hold bottom above about 10knts. This video snip is from series 2 EP20 on the Furuno youtube page.
I agree but they must have found a sweet spot. You might want to contact them directly about the placement. Placement is everything to have depth at speed. You must get clean water because turbulence/bubbles knocks out a sounder quick.
