Transducer Upgrade

Currently have a Dff1 and a TM258. I fish the great lakes and do a lot of trolling from speeds between 2 to 5mph. Just looking for some thoughts if I wanted to upgrade.

Thanks

MikeR13,
Boy that's a tough call for me. Below is the only screen shot I have showing the difference between a B-260 (left), B-258 (mid) and a 600 watt (right) transducer. We were testing other sounders at the time I took this so there was a lot of interference on the screen. But if you look through the interference you can see the performance difference between the three transducers. The B-258 uses four elements that resonate at both 50/200Khz and the B-260 has eight elements (seven for 50 and one for 200Khz). The beam pattern between the two is slightly different and also the shape of the transducer is slightly different so your fairing block will need to be changed. Hope this information helps.

Thanks! I have been considering the 270 and chirp. Currently I have a transom mount but have seen other types of transducers mounted on the transom in a enclosure, which seems to give me the ability to consider more transducers. I really like my 258 just seems chirp looks superior.. :D

MikeR13,
If you are looking at a the DFF1-UHD I would lean towards the 275 transducer. The HF side of the 265 will be better looking for Thermoclines when as the HF side of the 275 will be better at showing you baits and down riggers.
