Transducer resolution versus screen resolution

Using water 200 ft in depth as an example and a TZT2 12 with DFF1-uhd with a dual CHIRP ducer, what is the limiting factor in target resolution; the 4 inches of the 800 vertical pixel screen or the black box/ ducer combo?

If it is the screen, would Nobeltec with sounder module & a higher resolution screen be that much better at showing Halibut on the bottom?

Ericl,
First I have to admire your quest in trying to see Halibut. We have seen that on deeper ranges that the higher resolution displays can make Chirp targets difficult to see. We saw this same thing happen on the Tuna vessels when their displays went from VGA to high res. Would going to Nobletec TZ Pro help, maybe. My suggestion however would be to use the sounders Bottom Lock function as it was designed to give you an expanded look at targets close to the seabed.
