TM260 Mounting Postions

Am running a 587 with TM260. The boat is a 216WA Seafox. The don't get a good picture after 12-15 knots. The tranny is deep and have experimented with the height for no improvement.

I understand the closer to the keel the better. I have the water pickup on the hull in the prime position on the starboard side. My question is how important is it for the tranny to be on the downside side of the prop direction? I can mount on the port side down deep close to the keel but would be on the up prop direction?

Hello,
It looks like it is a good location for your transducer, however, most transom mount transducers will usually get a bad picture after a certain speed due to any air bubbles in the water that could be from the props or water disturbance from the boat itself.

Here is a link to some transducer and fish finder reading material that covers different transducer and mounting options.

pay close attention to pages 4 and 5 for picking a transducer and where to properly mount the transducer for optimal performance. this document should answer any questions you may have about mounting a transducer, and operation at higher speeds.
