Hey guys I am installing a new TZTouchtz2 system in our boat I am putting the ss260 multibeam trans in my question is this one wire hooks directly to the screen the other two go to the Dff3d box the wire that has all of the colored wires if I look in the back of the manual it look different then inside of the Dff3d but the manual show the hook up for a different transducer # I just want to make sure I am hooking them up properly

Ksanchez,
The transducer that you have (165T-50/200--SS260) is new and hasn't been added into the installation manual yet. You will find it has three cables. The one with the 10-pin plug will go to the TZT2. The other two will go to the DFF3D module. The one with the plug is the motion sensor and the one with the bare wires is the transducer which you will terminate into the orange WAGO connectors inside the DFF3D module.

Ok the 10 bare wires that go into the wago connectors do I use the same wiring diagram to hook them up that is on the metal protector plate inside of the Dff3d just want to make sure of that so I don’t hook it up wrong

Ksanchez,
Below is the wiring diagram for the 3D's transducer. One tip is to make sure that the shield on the transducer cable makes good contact with the metal on the cable clamp. This helps to reduce electrical interference.

That would be the shield that is around the wires It’s like a woven wire also there is a 10th that is a ground wire that has no coating on it where goes that go

Ksanchez,
The bare shield wire goes to the cable clamp along with the foil/woven overall shield.

Ok good deal thank u for the help. When I first start it up just go by the book on how to set everything up

Ok also will it hurt anything to start it up at home and not in the water as far as the transducer is concerned

Do not run the transducer out of water for very long. It can be damaged by overheating.

Hey guys I have another question do I need to go in the Dff3d and change the mode switch settings for the tz touch 2 system

Hey guys I was doing some follow through reading before I started my system up and come across some changes with some Dff3d and the Ethernet hub just wanted to make sure I needed to change them on the default settings

Ok just wanted to be sure so I didn’t cause any problems

Hey guys I am installing a pg 700 heading sensor and I am not getting power to it when I hook it up in the backbone on a tz touch 2 system but with the the wire to find the right location it works fine so what am I doing wrong because by the the book it goes right from the t connector that comes the main screen

Ksanchez,
The TZT2 doesn't supply power to the NMEA 2000 backbone, you must use a separate power tap to supply power the back bone.
