Hello. I trying to use the NetGear FS105 but doesn’t work. When I plug the DFF1 In the Splitter my MFD12 do not recognize It. Do I have to do any additional to make it work?

What ethernet cables are you using to connect the MFD12 and DFF1 to the Netgear switch? There are "straight"and "crossover" cables. The older Furuno devices use crossover cables as I recall. Your FS105 should be able to auto-detect and manage both types of connection. Are the lights on the FS105 ports blinking on the connections from both the MFD and DFF1?

Hello. Thanks for your help. I don’t have knowledge about the cable, but I don’t have a crossover cable in the system. When I connect the DFF1 direct to de MFD12 work perfectly. And when i connect the DFF1 through the NetGear the light in the port goes On only In the cable from the MFD12 to the NetGear, but the connection from the DFF1 to the NetGear doesn’t show any light

Embedded devices like the DFF1 and unmanaged switches don't always handle auto-detection properly. It would probably be a good idea to use a known-working cross-over cable for the DFF1-FS105 connection.

Good afternoon,

Can you confirm the power light on the DFF1 is on when you connect it to the Netgear Switch? The DFF1 needs to have the dip switches set to the following in order for the unit to work with a non-power Sync hub/switch.

The dip switch configuration should be Down(on), Up(off), Up(off), Down(on).

Can you confirm this?

Hello. Sorry for my delayed response. The power light in the NetGear when I connect the DFF1 Is not on. I set the DFF1 to work with 1kw transducer. I don’t remember if I set it that way. I will check on Saturday and I’ll let you know. Thanks

Thank you, that is only when you have a hub 101 which uses power sync. Since an on the shelf hub does not have that feature. Down, Up, Up, Down will work for you.

Hello. I tried that configuration down up up down and doesn’t work. The MFD12 received the information from the DFF1 but show in the screen the massage “NO CONNECTION” what else can I do? Thanks

Hello Johnny, thanks for your help. The light on the DFF1 keep flashing. And yes, I did the setup wizard after changing the switches

Good morning Aerozamora,

The DFF1 Status light:
DFF1 Status light.jpg

Depending the frequency of the status light.

So when you ran the MFD12 Setup Wizard, during the countdown how many sounders/fishfinders did the MFD12 recognize. During the countdown the DHCP server will survey the network and will indicate how many devices it finds. If the MFD12 recognized 1 sounder/fishfinder we know that it was discovered on the network.

After the countdown, go to the Sounder tab and make sure you setup the DFF with the correct transducer and select the correct sounder source: DFF1.

Then go to the Global Tab, select the source of GPS, depth, ect. then save and exit.

The MFd12 should reboot to a normal screen. When the MFD12 full boots, hit the menu button, scroll down to fish finder General Menu, then choose the source: This will lock the sounder into the main operating system. You should choose Dff1.

If you don't see the any sounders on the device countdown, or don't see a fish finder option in the general menu. Then the sounder is recognized on the network. I would start with the cable, maybe try a new ethernet cable?
