Specifying location of gps antenna?

I should know the answer to this after all these years with my NN3D system, but....

I am replacing a failed 330B gps antenna. Is there somewhere in the NN3D system where I tell it where the gps antenna is located relative to the fore/aft and beam lines of the boat...as we do with the radar?

thanks

No GPS antenna location settings. Normally you want the GPS antenna near the radar either above or below the transmission beam. It would only be large ships where placing the antenna far away from the radar can lead to problems. For the NN3D, most consumer boats it isn't a worry. If on a large ship, the GPS needs to be near the radar.

Thanks as always Johnny. The spec sheet for the DRS4D radome says it has a 25degree vertical beam....so for mounting the gps ABOVE the radar, I interpret that as meaning to stay >12.5 degrees above the horizontal....measured from the top of the dome for safety: have I got that right?

Correct. GPS sensors should be outside the radar beam and away from other strong sources of RF. Wifi boosters, VHF antennas, transmitting AIS antennas and others can mean a short life for a GPS sensor.
