I can’t fully tell from the picture of the stern, but it looks like the transducer is not sitting low enough in the water and would be creating cavitation once underway.

I am sure that @Deep Blue can better answer this, but to me it l would think that the transducer needs to drop down more to get into clean water while moving. I am far from an expert when it comes to transom mounted transducers.
