Hi, is there a website that has the functions and description of use for all the settings on a dffi uhd? so far I am doing everything by trial and error. It would help greatly in optimizing my set up if I knew what all the different settings did. Thanks

Jabcon,
While it would be nice to have one set of settings that would cover all the different fishing scenarios it is not quite that easy. Some folks fish shallow, other in deeper waters. Some are using narrow beam transducers and other use wider. However I can give you some basic settings to start with. Screen advance at 1/1, Power set to Auto and the TX Rate at 20. Personally I like to use a manual gain instead of Auto Fishing. The three settings that I change are range, gain and clutter. Range is pretty straight forward. I will adjust the gain until I start seeing clutter and then I add a little more. I will then use the clutter control to clean up the picture.

If this is your first time with a Chirp sounder just remember you are going to see things in the water column that you have never seen before. This is the nature of Chirp technology. If you come to a point where you are seeing to much, try not to turn the gain down but turning the clutter control up. Hope these tips help.
