Self repair FCV-582L

My FCV-582L was heat damaged and the display mylar coverings on the LCD delaminated. I took the unit down to the LCD, removed the 2 layers, cleaned the face very well. The LCD was spotless and I put down a polarided plastic.
Apparently this was not the right mylar. All the electronics work but the image is still unreadable.

Can someone tell me what was originally used for coverings and a vendor who sells the mylar covering? I want to recover this unit, a new one is not financially doable.
 
I noticed the website thehulltruth has a thread concerning this that included some part numbers. Maybe a fellow user can provide you something more.
