Will this sat compass work with Navnet VX2 system and navpilot 500?

I have an older system that I swapping into a vessel and looking to install a sat compass while I'm installing components on the flybridge.

Help appreciated.

Cheers Pete

Fiddy1,

Yes the SCX21 will work with both NAVNET VX2 and NAVPILOT 500.

Please note that with the NAVPILOT 500 you'll need to go to the Dockside Setup, and change the Compass Type to "Other" and set the Baud Rate to: "4800".

Thanks
So it will show heave compensation when utilising a network sounder?
Help appreciated.
Cheers Pete

The odds are good if you have the DFF1 or DFF3 but not for the BBFF1 or BBFF3. We can't be 100% certain because the age of the Vx2 it might not pass the heaving information over the network to reach the sounder. I think it will. The DFF1 has heaving support but not entirely sure that the Vx2 will pass it. Regardless the SAT compass makes for a better pilot, better radar overlay. You don't get the radar skewing that you normally get with flux gates.

I want to connect SCX21 to my RDP149 display (my radar is 1944C model), please show me a interconnection diagram. Thank you

Interconnection diagrams are either in the back of the Installation Manual or if there isn't an installation manual...the back of the Operator's Manual. Here are links to both:

I found a wiring diagram of SCX21 and RDP 149. It seems pin 3 and 4 (TD1-A and TD1-B) of SCZ21 will connect to pin 1 and 2 port 3 of RDP149. Please advise. Thank you

Based on what you stated above, it appears that you are connecting the SCX21 to provide heading information to the RDP149. If this is true, the best port to attempt connection without having to change any settings in the SCX21 is:
SCX21 - Data 3 -------------RDP149 Data 3
Pin 9 - wht/gry (TD3-A) ----Pin 1 (HDG-H)
Pin 10 - blu/gry (TD3-B) ----Pin 2 (HDG-C)

Let us know if this works.

Yes, I want to upgrade heading data for my radar. I am using PC-500 for my radar and I am using furuno sonar for my fishing boat too, I want to get a stable heading signal. I will let you know after I finish. Thanks so much for you help

It didn't work. I used cable MJ-A6SPF (cutting form my PG-500 AD10 signal cable) and MJ-A7SPF (my GP32 power cable). Then I connected:

RADAR 1945
SCX21 - Data 3 ------------- RDP152 HDG port, used MJ-A6SPF cable, RADAR GOT HEADING WELL
Pin 9 - wht/gry (TD3-A) ----WHITE Pin 1 (HDG-H)
Pin 10 - blu/gry (TD3-B) ----BLACK Pin 2 (HDG-C)

SCX21 - Data 1 ------------- RDP152 MNEA 2 port, used MJ-A7SPF cable, RADAR GOT HEADING AND POSSITON DATA WELL
Pin 3 - WHITE (TD1-A) ----YELLOW Pin 3 (HDG-H)
Pin 4 - BLUE (TD1-B) ----GREEN Pin 4 (HDG-C)

RADAR 1944C
SCX21 - Data 3 ------------- RDP149 port 3, used MJ-A6SPF cable, DIDN'T WORK
Pin 9 - wht/gry (TD3-A) ----WHITE Pin 1 (HDG-H)
Pin 10 - blu/gry (TD3-B) ----BLACK Pin 2 (HDG-C)

SCX21 - Data 1 ------------- RDP149 port 1, used MJ-A7SPF cable, DIDN'T WORK
Pin 3 - WHITE (TD1-A) ----YELLOW Pin 3 (HDG-H)
Pin 4 - BLUE (TD1-B) ----GREEN Pin 4 (HDG-C)
I checked data 3 on RDP149 and HDG data on RDP 152, data 1 on RDP149 and MNEA2 data on RDP152 in installation manual, they are the same information.
I think the problem may be a baud rate and MNEA version. GCX 21 is 38400 and MNEA 4.1 version format but RDP149 is 4800 and MNEA 1.5 -2.0 only

I think it's more likely the NMEA v4.1. RDP149 used v1.5 and 2.0. If baud rate is wrong, that would definitely be a problem too. Would have to get in the SCX21 settings and change baud rate, NMEA sentences and/or NMEA version to get it to work over there. Also, in RDP149, would need to go to Menu-System Configuration-Nav Option-Nav Source Settings and ensure the "position source" is set to "All".

Yes, I am looking for a GP39 display to set a correct MNEA version on SCX21, it is really hard to find it. It is said that SCX21 can setting by computer ( I read SCX21 maunal), can you help me on this? Thank you

I can't speak for outside of Furuno USA area, but we have plenty of GP39s in stock. As for the computer connection, the information on how to hook up to and change settings is in the SC Tool Software Operator's Manual (I understand that you said you already read it) is fairly straight forward. If it still doesn't make sense, I recommend getting with someone that's local and good with Windows computers first as this type of support is beyond the scope of the forum. If some clarification is needed on what the manual is saying, you can contact us by phone if you're in the Furuno USA support area at:

I found the GP39 and set the baud rate (4800 only) and MNEA version 2.0. GCX21 can works with my 1944C well , It got heading (data 3) and posstion at data 2. But it has new problem, my radar can not caught a target (I changed to my PG500, it can). is there any different between PG500 heand and CSX21 heading? I think the heading I got from SCX21 may be MNEA data (not AD10) so my ARPA doen;t work, right?. This is my GCX21 data 3 seting:
Format: MNEA0183 V2.0
Talker: HE
Baud rate: 4800
Sentences: Default setting (see my attachment)

Yes, AD10 is not available on SCX20. That's why ARPA wasn't working with it.

Yes, it'll work with a 1945 radar. Recommend 25ms HDT from SCX21
Yes it work but 25ms HDT can be work with 38.400 baud rate, so I choosed 1945 for my boat though I like my 1944CBB so much (large and beautiful display). I am appreciated for your help so much
