SCX20 up and running ( fixed)

I used the scx20 toolkit through pc, all went well. The COG is very erratic jumping as much as 50 deg. The boat is not in the water it is on stands. The heading is staying true and not moving. I turned on my 2 other furuno gps GP32 and there were also erratic jumping but I thought sat compass would be stable. Maybe where there is no movement??

My FI70 is showing heading 5 degrees off from my auto pilot and Timezero pro. I never set up the FI70 as I did it with the pc set up tool. I thought the SCX20 would show identical info on the bus??

I have some screen shots of my set up through the SCx tool kit, neat function you can screen shot from program.

COG (and SOG) values are never valid unless moving 3knots or better. You are most likely seeing effects of GPS dithering and exactly why COG/SOG are not valid unless moving.

ok good, Johnny do you know why the FI70 is not reading the same info coming across the nmea bus. My auto pilot and timezero pro show heading 22 degress but FI70 shows 17 heading, 5 deg difference from timezero pro to FI70 . Do I need to set up the FI70 like I did with the SCX set up tool from PC?

The box says version 1.11 but cannot see the option to add 3 axis display as shown in version 1.11 update.

Does the sat sky plot signals look ok to you?

Have you set the same magnetic or true heading on all devices?
There may be this difference in deviation here .

ok so I had a chance to mess around today with the FI70 and went through system settings and nmea 2000 settings and some other settings and all is good they are all showing the same.
