Do the SC30 and SC70 use the same antenna? And how many NMEA 0183 ports does the SC70 has compared to the SC30 with an IF NMEASC?

The SC70 and SC30 look alike but do not use the same electronics. The SC70 has a higher commercial specification. For example the heading accuracy on the SC70 is .4 degrees and the SC30 is .5 degrees.

Looking at the manual the SC70 offers five 0183 data ports on the SC701 junction box. The SC30 using the IFNMEASC offers two 0183 data ports.

Thanks Johnny...I currently have a SC30 with an IF NMEASC which only has two 0183 data ports. I'm looking to upgrade since I need at least three 0183 ports. Right now I'm using my FAP 711c as the third port but have been experiencing issues with the rru. When the rru is down the autopilot goes into simulator mode and my plotter doesn't receive data from the SC30...

Sound like you might not have your auto pilot control head properly terminated. If you need more NMEA 0183, you could always split one of the NMEA outputs with a NMEA expander like the Noland XP15.

We generally don't discuss the commercial products on this forum. They are supported by more official channels via the local Furuno distributor. Checking the manual, yes the SC70 has Pitch/Roll sensors as does the Light Marine SC33 Product.
