SC30 heading offset

I have an SC30 connected thru N2K to navnet 3D BB
When BB is getting heading from autopilot compass heading looks perfect when getting heading from SC30 it is off by about 3 degrees. If I change heading offset in BB it changes both AP and SC30 heading . Is there a way to offset only the SC30 ? SC30 does not have a dedicated display.

Yes, you need something to talk to the SC30 to setup it's offset. (not Overall heading offset for the MFD) If you have a Friend with a TZT or TZT2/3 unit they can do it. Otherwise you need a PC with the maintenance cable to talk to it. (Using the SC tool program) I would have to double check but I think newer version software of the FI70 or NavPilot 300 might also talk to it for offset.

Thanks for the information. Sounds like I need a cable and software then . All I have now is the IF-NEMA2K1 software for setting up my Furuno N2K interface via USB . Can I order the cable and software from parts or device in Camas ? Does the cable plug in to only the SC30 or anywhere in the N2K network ? Thanks for your help.

I would recommend talking to your dealer because it might be lower cost to have them come out and set it because many have the needed cable and equipment already. It seems costly to buy the cable for a quick adjustment. Yes, the maintenance cable is in stock but would need to be ordered from your dealer, Camas doesn't conduct direct customer sales. The cable would directly connect to the SC30 at the one side, you would power the cable and connect the RS232 wires to an older RS232 serial port on the pc or use the level proper converter. All the details are in the dealers service manual. The PCtool software and maintenance cable isn't the easy way to do the adjustment. About the only time I see sat compasses needing an offset is when it wasn't pointed correctly when mounted. If it is 4 degrees off it might be easier to loosen the mounts and see if you can move it the needed amount. If not, I would recommend working with you dealer. He could even bring out a small GP1871F and connect to the NMEA 2000 bus and setup the offset in the SC30. Sorry you can't do it with the NN3D.

Thanks for the reply. I have had our SC30 back to Camas once for testing and a software update and once for a bad gps unit .
So Yes mounting could be changed from install. It is kind of a pain to get up to it as mounted higher than our dry stack exhaust. I will climb up and see if I can move it enough. I would not mind adding a small display unit for SC30 , Is the P1871F the least expensive display that I could add to get the job done ?

The FI70 has SC30 settings but I think the offset applied is only in the FI70 not internal to the SC30. I can check, otherwise it would be the GP1871F.

The F170 would be perfect. I downloaded and read through the manual but as you stated I am not sure if it controls SC30 internally. If you can check/confirm it's control of SC30 and let me know it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

FI70 won't do it. It has a SC30 setup menu but all you can do is turn on/off the SBAS mode. It looks like the Gp1871F is the smallest unit with any SC30 setup offset abilities.
