SC-30 Damping with TZT14

What would be a 'typical' damping function for an SC30 connected to a TZT14....or if that question doesn't make any sense, how does one go about working out a damping level? The default seems to be zero. If it makes any difference, I typically 'see' 8 x satellites, with all signal strengths >25% and half close to 50%; and with HDOP of 1.0.

I guess it depends if you are trying to dampen heading or COG/SOG. You would first have to ensure that primary source is set to the SC30 (for the item you plan to dampen ie. heading and/or COG/SOG) and then use the DATA DAMPING section under initial setup.

Damping or smoothing won't change your GPS reception strength.
DOP of 1 should be fine.
