SC 30 connections.

I am looking at hooking up a SC30 to my 1150. The unit I am looking at comes with a
IF NMEASC interface unit. Just want to ask does the SC30 need the interface unit to connect to the 1150 or can I hook the SC30 directly to the 1150?

You must have some sort of interface because the SC30 is inherently NMEA 2000 by design and the FCV1150 is not. (FCV1150 accepts NMEA 0183). The IF-NMEASC is a good choice when properly interfaced.
