Satellite Compass for NAVPILOT

I would like to add either a 500 or 711 navpilot to my 26 ft. Grady White. I currently have a Simrad HS60 Satellite Compass. My question is this, can I use this as the autopilot compass thru the NMEA 2000 system since it already exists?

The NavPilot 711C has a NMEA2000 port and can use the HS60 Heading. The NavPilot 500 (no longer sold) is NMEA0183 ONLY and will require a NMEA2000 to NMEA0183 converter to use the HS60 heading.
