RRU cabling

Continuing my 711C installation, I have a question about the cable for the RRU FAP-6112. How important is the cable shielding for this unit. I have existing unshielded wiring that would make installation much easier. Does anyone know how susceptible the RRU is to interference? Thanks in advance for any experience.

As long as there is no EMI or noise it should work okay without shield. If there is EMI it will be a big problem.

Thanks for the reply - it's hard to argue with that . What I'll do is try the existing wiring since that will be easy, then run some tests with everything running, including AIS and transmitting on the VHF.

I ended up being able to install the RRU with the supplied cable after all. So no compromise on the shielding. Thanks again.
