Radome installation angle

I'm a bit confused as to whether I should install my radar several degrees down or level. The mount I have is tilted down (toward the bow)several degrees and the roof of my pilothouse is similarly tilted. I look at all the other radar equipped boats near me in the marina and their units seem to be level. Please help before I make a mess of this!!

To tilt or not to tilt that is the question.
You will get many answers depending on who you speak with. In most cases it doesn't make that big a difference. People with smaller boats where the boat cruses with the bow up much higher, typically are the ones who choose to tilt. This is so the radar is level when the boat is cruising. If the bow pulls way up on your boat, then the idea is a good one. Typical tilt mounts will be about 4 degrees.
