True motion radar display mode and true motion trails are different things. There are a lot of different terms and it can all get confusing. In short there is no true motion mode/feature in the TZT2 or the original TZT for that matter. In a true motion display your boat moves on the screen in "true motion" movement until it gets to the edge of the screen and then re-centers. We have systems that offer that but not the TZT2. True motion trails show the movements
of the targets according to the targets over-the-ground speeds and courses. True trails require position and heading information as does units that offer true motion display mode. The TZT2 does offer True trails and the better the heading and position the better the results. There is also echo trail multi shading possible under the radar settings. In general using at sat compass will reduce if not totally eliminate the radar overlay skewing that get when doing turns. The ARPA works better, the pilot using heading works better, just about everything using heading has better functions when you give it better quality heading.
