Hello :
Just inherited boat/ the current cable wires are spliced at the mast base is via soldering and heat shrink. The shield ends at the splice are connected for continuity with a bare stranded copper wire wrapped around the bundle and soldered to each mating for the shields. Then all are wrapped in tape. This connection has to be broken, as the mast is being removed/ For reinstalling this connection point for ease of removal in future i:

1: Must these multiple wires be soldered (time/ tedious) or can a connector (push in or screw type) bus bar and moisture sealed be used?
2 Any degradation or downside for not soldering?
3 If must be soldered same for the shield configuration as previous configuration.
4 Example of recommended connectors
Thank you very much.

1A. Junction boxes can be used. The better they are sealed the better to keep out water and moisture.
2A. Not if you make good connections/contacts.
3A. Yes you would want to keep the shield connected to protect from EMI.
4A. Many options to choose from but here is one from Amazon.

Be very careful of the small coax wire as the core and shield wires of that coax are hair fine (like those on your head) and normally would need to be soldered to a larger gauge wire before inserting into a junction. The other wires are normally not an issue.

Thank you for your prompt reply, This will save significant time, again thanks
