Proper Way To Clamp Chirp Transducer With FCV-1150

The DDF3-UHD installation procuedures show different ways for clamping the end of various transducers. When using a dual frequency chirp transducer you do not clamp the shielding jacket.

This has brought me to wonder if the same is true when clamping a dual frequency chirp transducer to the back end of an 1150 or 295. When using a dual frequency chirp transducer (B275, R109, r509 etc) should you not clamp the shielding? Would the proper way to do this be to tape off the end of the jacket and clamp the vinyl outer jacket?

Thanks,

Pete

Page S-1 of the manual will always show the proper wiring for the prospective unit. Airmar has changed some of the raw cable used on some transducers of which has been noted on page S-1 showing how to wire both the old wire stock and the new wire stock. If wiring an FCV1150, follow the wiring as shown in its manual. If there is any confusion it is best to note the model of transducer, unit being wired to, and the description of the cable stock and contact the technical support. They can contact Airmar if necessary.
