I recently ordered a Furuno DRS4D-cm radar set-up that should connect with a RJ45 Ethernet connector to a standard PC running Time Zero software. A few questions:
1. What cables should I expect to receive with the unit?
2. What is the amperage requirement for the Radar set as it relates to wire size and circuit breaker, the vessel is 24 volt?
3. Will I be supplying the cat. 5 cable for the connection?
4. Is there any technical information on the Furuno web site for this model, manuals?
5. Will this unit allow me to not only connect an Ethernet cable, but also a NMEA 2000 connection to communicate with the balance of my network?
Please let me know any information you may know.
Thanks, Cyril

While the DRS4D-CM used with the Nobeltec Time Zero is manufactured by Furuno, it is a product solely available and supported by Nobeltec.

I is unfortunate that neither Nobeltec or Furuno will offer any detailed information regarding the new DRS4D-CM radar set and its operation. Attached is the only hook-up information I could coax out of Nobeltec. A bit of additional information or a reference to operating instructions from other Furuno radars that are similar would be helpful. Nobeltec help admits they know little about the DRS4D-CM Furuno radar! :(

Overall radars normally offer similar controls and operations across the board, even among manufacturers. The operations would be using the Nobletec software and the features as such would be covered in their manuals/training. When it comes to the radar basics in general you might want to take a look at the Furuno "Operators Guide to marine Radar"
http://www.furunousa.com/Learning%20Cen ... ide-LR.pdf
You might ask Nobeltec for a copy of their manual for the software which should have a radar section in it.
