NN3D Update for Radar

Going to TZ2 Plotters from NN3D But keeping my DRS6A Radar. I need to do the update for it to work properly w the new TZ2's

I looked on my Navnet scene yesterday and it said it has version 2.11.

Does that mean I am ready to go for the TZ2 to work w the current DRSA6 Radar?
Or should I still proceed w the v2.07 Incremental update?

And can I use a Mac for the update vs PC. I dont own a PC

You might depending on how old the radar is. You need 1.18 software in the radar. If the radar was purchased before the TZT series one was selling; you most likely require a software upgrade.

What your MFD software version the MFD is isn't related to what software is in the DRS. I would recommend running incremental and see if the radar comes up as an option to update. If it does, then upgrade it. If not, then you are ready to move forward to TZT2. WARNING: because 2.07 doesn't match your existing 2.11 the software will offer to also upgrade your MFD (really down grades it to 2.07). If that comes up, you need to take the checkmark off the MFD so you don't downgrade the MFD before starting the upgrade of your DRS.

And can I use a Mac for the update vs PC. I dont own a PC

Data is data. You can download and unzip with a MAC. You should keep the SD card format in normal format. If you format it with your MAC the apple format won't work for the NN3D. Once the program is properly placed on a proper SD card, your incremental software should run smoothly.

Is there a way to check which software version in on my radar now?
I looked through the system pages but didnt see anything.

The NN3D does not offer a way to see the software version of connected items like the TZT/TZT2 does.

So I finally got my radar working today w the tzt2 plotter.

Few things that were not mentioned were that the ZT2 requires a separate power source PSU012 to run it and that once you have updated the radar through the MFD12, you also have to update the PSU012 w the MFD12 and then it will run w the new TZT2

if you are upgrading your plotter like I am, save yourself some headache and disconnect the entire network except one MFD12 (or 8) and the radar. Will go much faster and avoid error codes like the black box thing.and other snags.
