Thanks Snips
So here's the real question...How can I optimize my sonar setup ? I have a 260 (w DFF1) on one side of the hull and a 275 chirp (w DFF1-UHD) on the other. This was installed circa 2006 w a new NN3D network at the time.
Ive since upgraded (or currently) upgrading the Network to TZT2 screens.
I do a decent amount of bottom fishing on wrecks and rock piles in the Northeast and a ton of offshore fishing in the Canyons off NJ.
I was thinking I would upgrade the Chirp side to a DFF3 w the 109 or 509LHW for canyons and deep dropping, and leave the traditional 260 for inshore bottom fishing 200' or shallower.
From what I have read the original tech that came w the 257cLH was first gen compared to what is available now in the chirp Ducers. Since I am spending money and the boat is on the hard, it would be easy for me to swap out txducers while this is all going on.
At the same time, If there is tech I don't need within my network now, I prefer to take it out IE...the DFF1...But what you're saying is there is additional software within the DFF1 module that the TZT2 does not contain. So I would loose certain functionality by removing the DFF1
So, It sounds as thou I can ditch the DFF1-UHD and replace w the dff3, but keep the DFF1 to run the Traditional side of my sonar setup?
Really appreciate the advice.
Thanks again!
