NavPilot300 & HRP-11 12v power supply amperage?

Hello All,

Anyone have experience fitting a 12v HRP-11 pump to the Navpilot300? Probably a question for Furuno Installers.

Im fitting a new NavPilot300 and a 12volt HRP-11 pump and the pilot manual states the HRP pumps are compatible but doesn't discuss power consumption or how to connect electrically.
The Pilot manual says -Motor Drive 10A continuous, 20A 5 Seconds
The Pump manual says No load continuous current 6A, Hardover currrent 28A, Recomended protection 30A
I will be fitting a Circuit breaker to the Pilot power supply, and in this case will need 30A breaker. My concern is will this pump overload this pilot processor, maybe cause damage?
If I fit a 25A C.B. then it will be better protecting the Pilot but underrated for max draw if the pump goes to 28A. So in real world use would it ever draw close to 28Amp in wondering?
Thanks.

The HRP11 has proven to work but you shouldn't pump it into the stops sending the current high. You wouldn't want to power the pilot with 12 for a 24v pump because it will slow the hard over time greatly. You want to power the pilot with the same voltage you plan to use as the pump. In needed cases the pilot can use 24v input power to a 12v pump by applying modulation but still not exactly ideal. We have always recommended here to match pilot power with pump power. Being the HRP11 is twice the cost of other available 12v models we list, and also not as good about its current, it isn't listed for the 300 but it will work fine. Make sure to setup the unit short of the stops and don't pump into the stops and it will work just fine.
