MFD12 date 2 May 2022

Hello i don't understand what is happening... upon restarting the whole system after many days at anchor, the GP33, the GP330, the FA50 and the MFD12 all report the date as being May 2th, 2022.

What could i have done wrong ? Is this related to the date turnover ?

thanks

Thanks for asking a great question.

We have software updates for the FA50 & GP33 that should resolve the GPS/Date rollover issues with those products.

FA50 Software: https://furunousa.com/en/support/FA50#Software
GP33 Software: https://furunousa.com/en/support/GP33#Software
Not all GP330s are affected by rollover, if you're unsure if your product is affected it's recommended to either check with your local dealer, or contact Furuno's light marine technical support.

Hope that helps, :sail

Thanks Maggy

As often in boating...i'm stuck in a remote place (Antigua) so the vendor is far away and only the Furuno Forum made me feel close to support :)

I have found this: https://www.furuno.co.jp/en/news/notice ... ispmid=965

And the fine prints: If you want to return the date data to normal for the models with * (asterisk), you can replace the GPS receiver inside the device or update the software (both for a fee).

I'll see what i can do remotely. thanks !

Hello Maggy sorry if its a redundant post. So if i understand correctly:

GP33 = software fix, user installable
FA50 = software fix, user installable
GP330 ??? what are the options since mine is affected ?

thanks

Hi, Maggy

GP33 SN: 6412-4611
I have the problem that during an update the device has deleted its software but does not install new software.

Comm Port 1
Bitrate 38400 bps
Character length 8 bit
Parity none
Flow control xon/off

When I start the update program the loader is uploaded to the gps.
While the GPS says erasing flash Rom, the computer program closes. After that the GPS goes into receive program mode and aborts it after some time (abort receiving program). The computer program had already closed before and sends no more information at this tim
I have tried it repeatedly and used different laptops times with win 10 or win 11.
The result is always the same.

I used the official driver v 2.04 you mentioned from this website https://www.furunousa.com/en/support/GP33.

I'm a German and far away, Martinique, at the moment.

bps: 115200? It is set to 38400.
parity: 78? It is set to "none".

Morning Maggy,
I solved the problem with updating my GP33.
There was an opto converter in my RS232 COM connection.
Max baudrate 57600.
I put it out and voila. It worked.
Greetings from Martinique.
