Mercury Engine Data Display

Is there a way to show on the screen engine data for my Mercury Verado V-8s or do I have to buy some module interface? I see people with Garmin and they have a nice data box with fuel burn/used etc. My older eyes have a bit of trouble reading the smartcraft digital amounts while offshore and running
 
Mercury is a proprietary format so you will need something to provide standard NMEA 2000 data. Some of the Mercury items (like Vessel View) offer a standard NMEA 2000 output of data. Have you talked to Mercury to see how yours might provide standard NMEA 2000 data?
