JUST BOUGHT AN OLD STOCK AIRMAR TRANSDUCER 1kw M155, 75khz NO PLUG.

THE TRANSDUCER HAS JUST WIRES AT THE END OF THE CABLE TO MATCH MY FURUNO ETR-30N, AND VIEW IMAGE ON MY FURUNO MFD12 CHARTPLOTTER

WOULD LIKE TO KNOW POSITION OF BARE WIRES INTO THE 4 PIN CONNECTOR ??
4 PIN CONNECTOR HAS NUMBERS ON EACH HOLE 1,2,3,4

ALSO WOULD LIKE TO KNOW TAP SETTING FOR THIS TRANSDUCER ( A,B,C,D,E) ?
WILL USE FOR LOW FREQUENCY L.F. TO GO DEEP INTO THE WATER

leccese3,

The Airmar M155 75KHZ was designed as a Pocket or External Mount Survey Transducer. It's only a 75 kHz single frequency transducer, with 1kW of power and may not work that well for you if plan on using it expressively for marking fish. :sorry

THE SELLER OF THIS TRANSDUCER TOLD ME THIS 75khz 1KW AIRMAR IT HAS SIMILAR PERFORMANCE AS THE R155 1Kw USED FOR FISHING VESSELS, THATS WHY ENCOUREGED ME TO HAVE A TRY WITH IT.
IT HAS 10 CERAMICS,
IT IS TRANSFORMED TO 140 omhs,
IT HAS A Q FACTOR OF 7, WICH IS GOOD FOR FISH DETECTION IN THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA, ALSO SUGGESTED THAT WITH A ETR-30N I COULD TRY IT MAKE IT WORK IN LOW FREQUENCY AT 50khz ..
WICH HE SAYS WILL PERFORM BEST FOR FISHING …
AIRMAR PRODUCED THIS TRANDUCER FOR THE JMC130 SOUNDER, JFV200 SOUNDER
IT IS A BLISTER TYPE TRANSDUCER FOR EXTERNAL USE
IT HAS A BEAM OF 9 x 15 DEGREES

leccesc3,

I would recommend wiring the transducer to a low frequency configuration, and then set the unit for Tap Setting "A" on the ETR30N. And see what echoes you get... :think
