Hi Guru; can I Check if a in-hull M135c or M285HW will work with furuno tzt3 12/16 setup? I’m not happy with the current transom mount transducer and having lots of issue with it. I’ve good result with Raymarine and M285HW in my other boats and would like go that path?

I’m currently using the Furuno 165T-50/200-TM260 Transducer that works for f/DFF3D in Transom Mount Combo package. I fish from 20ft to 150ft of water. Been pretty disappointed with the fish detection/resolution except for when I’m down to stationary or 5~6 knots of speed. Setting issues?

I was hoping C-bass or Deep Blue Sea would have chimed in. Because the M185HW elements appear to be the the same as the TM185HW (which has a setting for in the TZT3), it should work fine. It would be a little worried about chirping thru a hull but if you have had good luck with it, I don't see why not. You would have to use the TM185HW as your selected transducer model in the settings. It would be better if it were on the official supported list but I think it will work.

maxima,

As Johnny Electron correctly pointed out, you can use the M285HW as replacement for the TM185HW. Both these transducers use the same elements and are rated at 150-250 kHz.

I also recommend that you use the TZ3-12P-PGT kit to connect the M285HW to the TZT3's 12-Pin Transducer Pigtail.

I currently don't know of any other boats that are using this configuration, so please send us some screen shots and let us know how the performance of this set-up is working out for you..?

- Deep Blue :)
