M1945

Hi all. I have an M1945 display with a strange fault. Every now and then, if you press the left arrow on the keypad, the crosshair will go all the way to the left of the screen as though the button has stuck. The button doesn’t appear to stick, it’s still tactile. Rebooting the machine clears it, and it can work all day again without the problem.
All the other buttons seem to be fine, and the button test screen passes as expected.
The fault isn’t always there, sometimes you can use the arrow button without incident, but when it dies go wrong it means I have to go through the restart. :angry
Anyone seen this before or have any suggestions?

I haven't heard of any problem like that but if not running the newest software; maybe that is a shot in the dark to try. Yeah I can see how that would be bothersome.

Thank you Johnny. I don’t suppose you know how I can update the software on it, or can you
point me to it somewhere?

The current software is APP 3.11 with boot 2.02. It doesn't look like there has been any newer software since 2015 so you might check your display to see what software you have in it. Software isn't so easy to update due to lack of any SD card slot. It is updated by either the USB or NMEA port by following steps in the service manual. If yours needs updating; your local Furuno distributor tech support should be able to provide you software and instructions. Normally the update of a display like this would be done by a dealer or the service center. The software is just a shot in the dark because I have never heard of this problem. It might not help if it is something related to something with your particular display.

Thank you for that Johnny. App is 3.11 and boot is 2.02 so I may need to leave it for another day and see how it goes.
Much appreciated all the same.
