ALOHA: Have FCV1100L w/AIRMAR R299 Transducer

Q1. Responses on screen appear to be losing contrast. Does direct sunlight affect the screen as the unit is now 15 years old? IT is mounted on the bridge and subject to both direct and indirect sunlight.
Q2. Also Interested in confirming fish color responses from other users. Among our group of Furuno FCV-1100L, FCV585 andFCV295 users, we have learned that our deep water snappers etelis coruscans (ruby snapper or onaga) and pristipomoides filamentosus (pink snapper or opakapaka) are shown as light blue targets. Can other users confirm and do other snappers have the same color response?
Thank you.

Reneenv,
Over it's history the FCV-1100 was manufactured with a couple of different front bezels. These bezels had an AR (Anti-Reflective) coating. Over time this coating could wear off allowing the plastic lens to become cloudy. We have also seen if a cleaning product was used that it could damage or even remove the AR coating.

I have heard of people polishing off the A/R coating and using after market A/R film or not putting any A/R on it.

The FCV1100s and LCDs have been depleted and no longer available. If it gets to the point you are ready to replace it, I would suggest the FCV1150.
