Issue with 1870f reading depth and marks

I have used the 1870 over the last year in the Chesapeake Bay. I am having an issue reading depth while running (also reading fish marks at high speeds). Even when drifting, the screen blinks in and out. What is causing this issue? The transducer is original from 2000 and bottom has been painted. I have attached a screen shot of what I am seeing.

Are you able to diagnose what transducer you may have on board ?
The transducer seems pretty worn out and might be time for a replacement.

If you can get the model number for the transducer we can start there.
