Installing a DFF 3D

Hi I have a DFF 3D and TM 54 transom mount transducer installed.
Just a Question about the length of the Transducer cable.
Can the transducer cable be shortened as I have about 4.5 meters of excess cable.

It isn't normally recommend to cut the cable to open it up to possible connection and water intrusion issues but yes it is possible to shorten the cable if one wishes.
