Picked up a used 711 c autopilot . Was complete sans the rudder feedback which I bought new. I am removing a working Simrad AP 11 ( 20 years old) that still works fine. Will use the Simrad 80 pump that works :jump fine. Some details ....31 foot 20k pound twin diesel boat. Hynautics K1 steering cylinder (12.1 oz capiticy ) On my boat is a Furuno TZT2 15 inch screen along with a 4 kw dome radar. Nema 2000 backbone for Icom 506 and Furuno 330 gps. The control head connection right to the 7002 understand that. Does the 7002 brain connect to the nema 2000 backbone? Can I just connect the Gp 700 compass now as a stand alone and wait for fall ( cooler weather) the finish the install? Thanks for any help..

Yes, the Navpilot 711C processor (FAP7002) connects to the 2000 bus using TB11 with a NMEA drop cable to the bus. The PG700 compass is a NMEA 2000 item and can be connected with a drop cable to the bus also. You can install and calibrate it independent of the pilot if you wish.
