IF-MNEA Setup required?

The option to configure/set-up it is not accessible but the device is showing in the sensor list. Is there any reason to configure it or do any setup now that I have it working?


Backstory:
I was trying to get AIS from the Standard Horizon VHF via NMEA 0183. I could not get the targets to show and I kept having to wait until there was a target off the coast (I would check the Marine Traffic App and then run out to the boat to turn everything on). I finally realized that the default in the 'Targets' menu is to show nothing >4 miles and I live almost that far from the beach/coast. Once I reset to 20 miles, I was able to see a target on screen.

Which device are you speaking of? The IF-NMEA2k2, IF-NMEASC, IF-NMEAFI ?

The IF-NMEA2k2 uses wires (which you cut or not cut) to determine mode. There is no setup. The photo you provided of the user settings from the TZT2 is for the IF-NMEAFI which is a different device.

Thanks - The menu description just says IF-NMEA so it was not clear.
