Hydro Slave Steering

Long story. This summer I purchased a complete 711C auto pilot. Control, rudder, pump, PG700. I also purchased the SCX 20 Sat Compass. The only thing I installed was the SCX 20 for my radar. I waited on autopilot because I did not like my steering. So after talking to many local people, I decided to change out my present steering with a hydro slave system. This will include a power steering pump off my transmission with two steering helms. I am just starting to take out my old steering. My first question is will what I have be able to steer this? If so , can someone help me with how to plumb this to include my autopilot. I do understand that I will need some kind of solenoid valve and not my pump. Anyone know where to get one? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Diagrams would really help. Thanks Bill

I assume this is the Marine Hydraulics Engineering system; just ask that the valves have solenoids for autopilot.

Most of the New England lobster boats have this and it is good. There is nothing to change in plumbing for so long as you get it with the solenoids. Just wire the solenoids to the AP to the same terminals as you would for a pump.

Here is an example of the solenoids (definitely a hydraulics part more than an AP part)

Thank you. Just what I was hoping.
