Hardware fan speed alarm flashed in red after doing the software update. Occurred when the unit powered back on. I assume this is an issue that will require factory service? I turned the unit off then re-powered a bit later and it seems to be functioning normally without an alarm. However, the background hum is no longer heard making me think there is truly an issue. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Weekend update. Retried the unit today and it has been on for 3 to 4 hours without alarm and working normally. Maybe just a glitch with the software update? Guess I can just use it and see if the fan alarm re-sounds, although I hate to loose time during the fishing season for a repair. Will await any input. Thank you.

My TZT12F display did the same thing. Was OK after another reboot. The TZT19F never did it.
You really shouldn't worry if you get just one alarm. It is when the alarm continues that you need to worry. The fan speed can be checked on the self test screen in the Service Mode. If the fan is stopped or falling below speeds it should be checked out.
