GPS NMEA 0183 output from MFD8/12?

Hi!
Our Garmin GPS outputting NMEA 0183 data to our AIS transponder and VHF died today.
Since we can't get a replacement right now, we wonder if it's possible to get GPS output data from our Furuno system (MFD8+MFD12) and feed it to our Samyung AIS class A transponder and Radio Ocean VHF? They both need NMEA 0183 input, and right now the Furuno is all we got.

You can use the NMEA 0183 output off the MFD8 or MFD12 using the provided 18 pin data 2 (has data2/3 on it) cable. If the Furuno has GPS, it can output it by wiring up that data cable and turning "On" the proper 0183 sentences for the selected port (in the installation wizard) of the said unit.
