Please confirm if this type of GPS unit receiver is updated or not.
Received information from Telex. Message number 17945

Potential problems for users of gps receivers.
Gps week counter roll over on till 06 april 2019.
GPS max week till 1023. If reaches to week 1024. System will revert to week zero if the receiver is updated.. Failure to verify gps receiver could lead to serious navigational problems.

Hi Melville. My GP-80 show incorrect date aug/13/1999. Is a rollover issue? Is possible to fix it or I need to buy a new GPS? Thanks!

mbittencourt-

Since the nature of the problem of "GPS week number roll-over" is the erroneous date information on the receiver clock, the equipment that does not require date information would be unaffected by the problem in question. If, by any chance, the positioning performance became unstable, you would be able to resolve the problem of positioning integrity by cold-starting the equipment through the operating menu. Please note, however, that even though you regain the GPS position acquisition, the date information cannot be restored merely by cold-starting.

Based on the age of your GPS I suggest you replace it.

Melville,
Do you know how I can update the GPS GP150 software to version 4.05? In January 2022 this model was impacted by GPS Week Rollover.

Thanks!

This is mostly a 'Light Marine Product' forum and not as suited for deep-sea commercial products such as the GP150. For specific information please contact Furuno technical support and request the deep-sea technical support.

I did find this link to the GP150 software page: https://furunousa.com/en/support/GP150#Software

Hope this helps, :sail
