Gp1870f to pc

I wish to connect my gp1870f to a PC so I can use the depth data on a survey program. Is this possible and how would I do it.

I would first talk to the maker of whatever software you are using on the PC to see what data sentence they support and what ports will it use. Do they accept via USB or must it be normal serial connection?

It will be Hypack that we use. I think it will accept USB input but we have USB to serial converters.
