GP1870F to GP1971F

MY 1870F won't power up and I found out the unit is discontinued now. I'm looking at replacing it with the GP1971F and was wondering if the transducer and sim card from my 1870f would work with this unit?

I upgraded to a GP1971F from a 1850F. Pretty sure if you have a P66 on your old unit, it will seamlessly be recognized by your GP1971F. I had no issues. The card in the 1870 is not capatible with the GP1971F. Johnny Electron from Furuno will chime in and give his thoughts as well. Love my GP1971F. Inredible unit!

The GP1971F uses either CMAP 4D chart cards or Navionics+ or Navionics Platinum+ chart cards.

The GP1870 used full size SD card C-map 4D chips. If the type in the GP1870 is using an adaptor (MicroSD with SD Adaptor), then the chart could be removed from the adaptor and used in the newer unit. The mapping itself is the same needed type but the chart card slot is different. The GP1971F uses MicroSD cards.
