Hi, i have one display Gp-1971F instaled with Ca50/200-1T transducer and conected to furuno MB1100.

My problem is that transducer 1kW lose the background and descimination of the see in about 80 fm and i want to use in 100 fm unitl 180. when i use in 10 or 20 fm the transucer works good and the discrimination too.

i already see the instalation manual of Mb1100 but the connections don´t are corrects.
i could send pictures to help to understand.

what u tink is the problem?

Mvergas,

With the current transducer (CA50/200-1T) and Matching Box used with your GP1971F, you should easily be able to see the depths of 1200 ft. (200 fathoms).

Keep in mind that Bottom Discrimination Mode is only good for the depths between 16 ft. and 328 ft. when the unit starts using both the low and high frequencies to determine bottom classification.

Can you provide pictures of the wiring connections between the CA50/200-1T and the MB1100..? :think

yes, i make the connections in MB1100 the way the manual show 1-shield ; 2-black; 3-blue; 4-green; 5-red but when i put these connections and set up the transducer the GP-1971F going crazy a can´t see anything, but with this connections and chose a generic transducer 1KW de fish finder works good until 20 fa.
i search on the internet and make a connection 1- shiel ; 2- red; 3-blue;4- green; 5- black and the fish finder start to identify 50/200 1-T and i see de botton until 50 fa but i can´t see any fish on the water just the botton.
Today i test with professional fish finder furuno 291 and i think have the transducer not good because i can´t see how many fa we are and with the gain on max i should have the display full of gain and don´t have.

The typical right setting will be "50/200-1T" on the GP1871F/1971F for the CA50/200-1T.

FWIW, the FCV291 was released in Dec. 1989 and ran production into 1996 or so, but either way it's possible we're talking about a nearly 26 - 33 year old transducer! :questions

While the build quality of Furuno's transducers are fantastic, they might not have survived that amount of time if they were used at all in a commercial application. :cool

For the equivariant performance, I would recommend looking into getting an Airmar B260 (526TID-HDD).

Hope this helps, :sail

The transducer and gp1971-F are NEW. I just bring a older professional fish finder to test the transducer.

Okay, it's new.

In that case it might be wiring than. Here's a wiring guide to check:

i think the right connections are this in attachement.
when i connect this way the Gp1971-F start to identify the transducer and i can see the botton but withou discrimination, i can´t iditify sand or rocks and i should.

Thank you for posting a pic of your wiring! After reviewing your photo and our documentation, we're pretty sure your wiring is a-ok.

So let's just check a few things first.

Do we have the right transducer selected for this?

HOME > SETTINGS > Fish Finder > Initial Setup > Transducer:

If so, we're doing real good! Next, let's go check to make sure the feature is selected. Go to the Fish Finder screen and swipe up from the bottom to reveal the layer's menu:

Turn on the feature:

As the returns roll in Bottom Discrimination will populate in the bottom bar:

Hope this helps, :sail
