Getting FI-70 to show depth like my FI-504 and Sharing on a TZT16X + FI-70 network

Hello everyone,

I have been going through the process of upgrading my sailboat from 2013 vintage Furuno gear. I am moving from the original TZT touch chart plotters to two new TZT16X chart plotters with 8 new FI-70 instruments that will work with some FI-50. While we hit some snags with the installation, I think most are behind us now. I am now working to configure the FI-70 displays.

I have two questions that are not very well addressed in the documentation:

1. How do I get the FI-70 to display depth in the same manner as this image?

2. Getting sharing to work. My dealer is not convinced that sharing, meaning having the TZT16X as the master works, because it is not mentioned in the manual. I would really like to share settings amongst the 8 FI-70's that I have, but the only setting that takes is "Sub". How should this feature work?

Like the text says the "Master" setting is not available if there is a connected Multi-function display. The units should be following the preferred source settings established by the NavNet. If you don't want that, you would set the FI70 up as "Stand alone".

To set a full page depth screen, one would create a custom data box as described in para 2.11 but choose only one box (whole screen) by selecting the box size to the largest. (See how to resize the boxes in Para 2.11.2) What you are attempting is shown pretty well in step#4 where the data box is resized to take the entire screen.

If it is an older unit, check the software. I do recall them making the size larger with the newer versions of software. If you have a new unit then it is likely as large as it goes.
