Getting BBDS1 to Power up.

Hey guys slowly but surely getting all my problems solved.
I have replaced the TM260 transducer.

Now I need to find out why the BBDS1 will not power up from the MFD8.

I have all the dip switches at the back of the BBDS in the OFF position.

The only way I can get the BBDS1 to work is to supply power to the unit via a seperate switch on the dash and put the No.1 dip switch in the ON position.

This is how I inadvertently cooked the transducer as I left the switch on after fishing.

I really need this issue sorted.

By the sound of it; your power sync feature is not working. Do you have the hub101 power sync switches set to ON for all Sounders, MFDs, and Radar power supplies? Are you using 8 wire Ethernet cables? (not 4 wire)

There is no hub 101 in the system.
Yes it is connected directly to the MFD via blue Ethernet cable.

If it connects direct then powersync should travel from the MFD directly to the sounder. It sounds like either the cable is bad or the cable is not making good connection at one or both ends. With the mode switches up; the sounder should be off until the MFD is powered on. At that point power sync goes out of the MFD to turn on the sounder.

Ok. I will replace the Ethernet cable next.
Is there anything special about the Ethernet cable or standard?
Apart from that I guess the fault will be in the BBDS1.

Ethernet cable must be shielded and it must have metal connectors passing that shield. Straight or cross-over will work.
