Can a furuno gp39 connect to a nmea 2000 network and recieve gps from a satellite compass or do i have to connect the antenna the came with it.

The GP39 is a standalone NMEA 0183 device and requires the antenna connected to have GPS. The unit is a provider of GPS not a consumer.
