Many transducer temp sensors are not that precise unless you have one labeled "High Precision Temp" from Airmar. They tend to get cracked and broken internally in the pounding of waves particularly as they age. You could be right that the change is due to the sounder but it could also be from a temp sensor that is cracked or just not that precise. You might first connect the temp wires (disconnected from the sounder) to a meter and check the resistance. If the resistance is constantly changing then the odds of it being due to the sensor is high. The process of the temp translates to temp based on resistance. If the resistance is solid so should be the temp.
